Read on to learn 3 things you may not know- but should- about termites.

  • Termites love to call Georgia home. The combination of heat and humidity in Georgia and throughout the southeast makes the region a perfect home for termites, especially Formosan and eastern subterranean termites. Formosan subterranean termites are also known as the “super termite” for their exceedingly large colonies and the quickness with which they feed upon wood.
  • Termite damage can be hard to spot. Due to their subterranean nature, termites often go unnoticed by homeowners, especially if they don’t know the warning signs. The most visible sign of a termite infestation is swarming in the early spring. Unfortunately, termite swarms are often mistaken for flying ants. Other signs of a termite infestation include swollen, soft, or darkened wood, and mud tubes near the ground on the outside walls of the structure.
  • Termites can be stopped. There are many steps you can take to prevent termites from being attracted to your home, from changing your landscaping to installing better downspouts. Unfortunately, once termites have moved in, it’s almost impossible to get them out without professional help. If you notice termite swarms (remember, they can look similar to ants!) or other signs of infestation, call us ASAP! Our liquid termite treatment is highly effective, and we will equip you with the knowledge you need to decrease the chance of future infestations.
